NEW YORK, NY - It’s expansions galore for Bowery as the vertical farming company has announced the growth of its leadership team and its retail footprint. Matt Williams has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Sales Officer, coming on board as Bowery has added 400 new retail locations to its portfolio.

Williams brings extensive industry experience to the leadership team from the produce, specialty foods, perishable, and frozen sectors, a release stated. He comes to Bowery from Tattooed Chef, a plant-based frozen foods company, where he served as Chief Growth Officer.

Prior to working at Tattooed Chef, Williams was President at Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, Senior Vice President at Dean Foods, and Vice President of National Accounts at Odwalla. He has also been a Board Member for Organic Valley Fresh.

In his new role, Williams will spearhead Bowery’s continued rapid retail footprint expansion. With the recent addition of 400 locations, the grower now has its products in over 1,500 stores and e-commerce partners, including Walmart, Whole Foods, and Amazon. The company doubled production capacity in 2022 and is on track to double production capacity again in 2023.

To support this growth, Bowery just launched a new advertising campaign demonstrating how its produce is grown smarter. It features outdoor placements in high-traffic locations in New York City and Washington, DC. The campaign, which will run through April 30, will also be live across YouTube, Instagram, Hulu, and more.
