Frieda’s Shares Produce-Centric Hangover Cures

LOS ALAMITOS, CA - Ah, the holidays... when one cuts loose, celebrates and - come Monday - awakens with an uncomfortable pounding in the skull.

If your customers, or even your employees, are looking a little green for the new year, Frieda’s recommend sending them to the produce aisle.

So what should they be shopping for? According to the specialty produce company, young coconut, ginger and turmeric, and Stokes Purple® sweet potatoes.

Here’s why:

Young Coconut

At this point you have hopefully been warned to drink a very tall glass of water before closing your eyes on a good night. Coconut water is a good remedy to help aid that process after the fact, with a reputation for both prevention and treatment of hangovers. However, make sure you have them prepped, or someone on hand to prep them for you. Don’t crack a coconut when your head is already pounding.

Ginger & Turmeric

Frieda’s calls turmeric the “it spice" of 2016 for its anti-inflammatory properties, like the inflamed state of your brain after a good New Year’s party.

Paired with the anti-nausea classic, ginger, in a tea is a dynamic duo to help suffering employees or customers bounce back.

Stokes Purple® Sweet Potatoes

The starch in a potato will help to ease an aching stomach, and Frieda’s notes that Stokes Purple® Sweet Potatoes in particular provide complex carbs and fiber, as well as Vitamin C, to revive the zombies you may be surrounded by or have become.

Whether it’s to revive your office or bring some color back to the cheeks of your shoppers, we hope these tips help to bring back those feelings of a happy new year.
