Monterey Mushrooms 90,000 Square Foot Madisonville Facility Expansion

<p>Monterey Mushrooms has announced a new expansion to its Madisonville, Texas facility. The upcoming expansion project will add 40,000 square feet and 50,000 square feet respectively to the plant, according to The Madisonville Meteor.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Luis Acosta, Monterey Mushroom Madisonville facility HR Director, told the Meteor that the facility would be “adding 50,000 square feet of cooler space, which will include packing and support pace, and we will be putting together a 40,000-square foot stand-alone production facility on the site.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Acosta said, “We are expanded and hoping the production increase will to support our retail and food service customers.” He said that with the new expansions, Monterey will see an increase in production by “3.5 million pounds annually.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Acosta continued, “Plus we will be adding around 40-plus jobs to the facility.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Scheduled to start in March, the project should be completed fully in 2015 with, Acosta said, “the increased mushroom production starting in October of this year.” The general contractor for the project, “would be using local businesses and labor for the construction,” Acosta noted. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Stay tuned as we follow the expansion for Monterey Mushrooms.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href=" http://www.madisonvillemeteor.com/news/article_350ce6b4-8851-11e3-89f1-001a4bcf887a.html " target="_new"> Monterey Mushrooms </a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
