<p>Premier Mushrooms is helping the industry expand its green footprint with recent efforts on behalf of the mushroom grower. Premier Mushrooms is utilizing an entire line of new in-house changes meant to optimize investments and lower their environmental footprint, keeping the company lean and green. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>One of these new state of the art green ideas is their Colusa Farms Chiller Project. It provides twice the chilling while using only 1/3 of the energy. Premier Mushrooms also has a new Fiber Till. The till is made from 100 percent recycled content, soy-based ink, and a wax liner that is completely biodegradable. Murphy, tells us. "Our new fiber till that will be available to our retailers by mid September this year, is one of the greenest tills I know of in large production. I'm very proud of the green &amp; sustainable statement the new till makes, 100% recycled content is huge, greatly reducing our environmental impact." On top of these projects, Premier Mushrooms also promotes Locally Grown, another tool used for reducing environmental impact.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>When asked what he felt about sustainability efforts, Bob responded that, “Many of the farming operations I know of are 2nd and 3rd generations and we need to make sure there are 4th and 5th generations.”</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>In addition to these green initiatives, the company has expanded from 16-64 growing rooms and is looking into solar alternatives for their warehouse and processing facilities.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Premier Mushrooms is located in Northern California and is one of Colusa County’s fastest growing agriculture related industries.
