IMMOKALEE, FL - When Lipman Family Farms announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, I knew big things were in store for the company. Following a years-long search for its newest CEO, the supplier’s Board of Directors elected Elyse Lipman to take over the pivotal role. With a unique skill set in strategy and innovation, Elyse brings vital expertise and a fresh perspective to the ever-evolving Lipman brand.
“Growing produce continues to be more and more challenging; as farmers, we need to do more with less while delivering on evolving consumer expectations,” explains Elyse when asked about Lipman’s future growth track. “Consumers are demanding new, exciting flavors and are curious to learn more about where their food comes from. We’re meeting their needs with convenient yet affordable options all year long. It’s our challenge—and also our greatest opportunity—to deliver on these expectations.”
In her previous role as Chief Strategy Officer, Elyse developed and enhanced Lipman's overarching strategy, emphasizing the company's core values and goals while striving for continuous expansion.
“I surround myself with the smartest people in the field, tapping their expertise to make informed decisions that move our business forward while challenging us to think further than we have before. It can be a great advantage to not be the expert in the room. I prefer to ask more questions than try to have all the answers,” Elyse explains.
As the Lipman Family Farms team would put it, Elyse is a sound, strategic leader, driving the grower to embrace technology across the enterprise.
Lipman’s unique vertically integrated model allows for the company to test and measure effective innovations within the full supply chain.
“We’ve had many recent accomplishments and developments due to our investment in solving our customers’ biggest challenges and commitments to providing quality produce year-round and across North America,” Elyse notes. “We’ve invested in our R&D division to continuously improve the varieties of our tomatoes and vegetables, both on the fields and in our greenhouses. We’ve also expanded our compostable packaging line, showcasing our commitment to reducing waste across our operations. These accomplishments and developments not only position us for future success but have also amplified our commitment to sustainability and innovation.”
In 2020, Lipman Family Farms introduced an internal Accelerator Program, which allows the company to explore new operational efficiencies, such as augmenting its harvesting practices with technology to reduce the physical toll of picking.
