IMMOKALEE, FL - New strategies are at play for Ark Foods, paving a fresh path forward for the company. Ark announced a renewed commitment to make fresh food available to all, especially those in underserved communities. The supplier aims to foster a company culture that prioritizes community support while providing fresh produce to those in need.
“We believe every person deserves access to nutritious food that nourishes both the body and soul,” shared Eduardo Mestre, Chief Operating Officer at Ark Foods. “By taking a community-driven approach, we can actively work toward reducing food insecurity and improving overall well-being.”
Since 2021, Ark Foods has donated over 350,000 lbs of produce through partnerships with local organizations like Harry Chapin, Feeding America, and the Farm Link Project. This year, the company has also worked closely with Farm Share and The Society of St. Andrew, according to a press release. These initiatives provide fresh produce to those in need and create opportunities for education and empowerment.
Ark Foods worked with City Harvest in 2022, one of New York City’s largest food rescue organizations. This project allowed it to provide produce to five districts throughout the city where food insecurity is the highest. City Harvest is located just two hours from Ark Foods' newest greenhouse facility, making distribution ideal.
The Society of St. Andrew is one organization reducing food waste by working together with partners across the supply chain. Ark Foods is one of the 750 farms providing fresh food and fostering communities where healthy ingredients are readily available.
