FRESNO, CA - It’s that time of year again when California table grape growers announce their latest investments in the industry’s next generations. As the California Table Grape Commission (CTGC) recently announced, CA growers are offering three categories of scholarships to graduating high school seniors from the table grape growing regions of California.

Three scholarships from each category are available, and applicants for all scholarships must plan to attend a California college or university.

Two of the scholarship categories are geared toward field workers and their families. The first category is a Bridge Scholarship for $14,500 and is available to graduating seniors who will attend two years of a community college and transfer to a four-year university, a press release explained. The second category is a $25,000 scholarship for graduating seniors who will attend a four-year university.

The third category offers a $25,000 Agricultural Scholarship to students residing in the Coachella or San Joaquin valleys of California who will attend a four-year university and are interested in a field of study applicable to the table grape industry.

The deadline to apply for all scholarships is Friday, February 9, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

California table grape growers have aided nearly 200 students in attending college since 1985. For comments from recent recipients, click here, and for more information on this advantageous program, click here.
