IMMOKALEE, FL - It can be hard to achieve success without the right tools. That is why Lipman Family Farms is on a mission to make sure that children in Southwest Florida are adequately equipped to take on the school year as it hosted its 13th annual Lipman Backpack Giveaway and Back to School Event.
"Our Immokalee community is an essential part of who we are as a company, and it brings us immense joy to witness the positive impact of this event year after year,” Jaime Weisinger, Director of Community Relations at Lipman Family Farms, remarked. “We remain committed to empowering our community through education and support, and we’re already looking forward to next year."
During the recent event, Lipman gave out 1,500 backpacks overflowing with school supplies to elementary and middle school-age children. According to a release, over the course of a decade, the company has distributed more than 14,000 backpacks to the Immokalee, Florida, community.
Additionally, the grower provided 300 bikes, $15,000 worth of gift cards, and 3,245 pairs of shoes to children in the area to start their school year with excitement and confidence.
This year’s event saw participation from over 60 nonprofits that shared valuable resources and services with the community. Lipman also gives gratitude to the Healthcare Network, the presenting sponsor of the event, which made a generous $10,000 donation.
At Lipman Family Farms, the importance of education goes back to its Founder, Max Lipman, who, despite facing literacy challenges growing up, was determined to instill the value of education in his children.
