<p>John Peter Pizza, retired owner of Washington Vegetable Company, has passed away. Washington Vegetable Company is a wholesale produce company that his father started in 1931.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Mr. Pizza returned from the service in 1945 and went to work at Washington Vegetable Company. He served as President of the San Francisco Produce Association from 1967-1997 and maintained close friendships with many market colleagues until the time of his death. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Mr. Pizza was the beloved husband of Judy Pizza, the loving father of Joan Pizza, Jean Williams and Jack Pizza. Beloved Nonno of Christopher, Genevieve, Katy, Mike & Jayne. The industry veteran was also a lifelong fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. John's grandchildren were his pride and joy. </p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Our deepest condolences go out to John Pizza's family and friends.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
