The recent Northern California Fresh Produce & Floral Expo on April 9th went off without a hitch, thanks to careful and meticulous planning and of course, the wonderful range of attendees.

More than 200 companies exhibited at the show, and with attendance up over last year to top more than 1,300, the event offered an intimate and social atmosphere with a manageable floor and lively atmosphere.

Carissa Mace, FPFC President tells AndNowUKnow, “This event offers the convenience of a one day show in which retailers in California don’t have to travel too far and suppliers can easily meet with their customers and form new relationships.”

The show was brimming with tasty and innovative endeavors from differentiating flavor combinations to helping to enhance the juice category. Ocean Spray debuted its Cranberry Fiesta Salsa for its retail customers. The item maintained the traditional cranberry flavor and finished with a tangy twist of heat. Great item for the spring and summer spread.

Purity Organic kicked coconut water up a notch with its new Chocolate Coconut concoction. For those who have been on the fence about coconut water, let this company bring tip you over to the USDA certified organic, fructose corn syrup and gluten free, side of the juice category.

NatureSweet is also introducing its Cherriots snacking tomatoes. For on-the-go convenience, this tidy 3-pack separates easily and is designed to protect the fruit and seal in freshness. FYI produce managers…special racks will be available for merchandising.

Rocket Farms is enhancing the herb category with more manageable pack sizes and an array of your most notable and demanded herbs. And as for Shanley Farms, this company has launched its new Gator Eggs single serving avocados. Shanley Farms’ goal was to provide consumers with an item better suited for single serving avocado consumption. Many consumers go for smaller sizes when adding avocado to individual salads and sandwiches or just as a snack in itself, so this was the company’s way of addressing that avocado trend.

It’s show season! So stay tuned for a year or innovative and delicious items!
