Frontera Produce is expecting production volume to be up 10% versus 2012 on the company's pineapples for the 2013 season. Quality has been outstanding with the weather conditions in Vera Cruz and Colima, Mexico creating the perfect environment for the MD-2 Gold variety to size up nicely. Misty Ysasi, Sale Representative, tells AndNowUKnow, "We are excited about 2013 and expect this category to continue to grow over the next couple of years. Our farms' close proximity to the U.S. allows us to provide our customers with a year-round supply of Frontera pineapples within 48 hours of harvesting. Our team is looking forward to adding a splash of Frontera flavor to retail produce departments this year."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The Indianapolis Fruit Company has recently launched its school foodservice campaign "Find Your Favorite" to encourage fresh fruit and vegetable consumption. The company has partnered with select community heroes who offered their own favorite fruit and vegetable through a school poster campaign, videos, and findyourfavorite.com. Lori Taylor, Indianapolis Fruit Company’s The Produce Mom, tells AndNowUKnow, "The initiative will empower the community to find their favorites produce items by offering educational materials about the affordability and seasonality of fresh produce, as well as exclusive grocery offers and coupons which will be provided by produce industry vendors & partners of Indianapolis Fruit Company."<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
