250 companies exhibited at the New Orleans show May 2nd through 5th. New Leaf Food Safety Solutions’ SmartWash won Best New Food Safety Solution. The Best New Packaging award went to Sambrailo Packaging for its MIXIM Classic 5 by 5 6 oz Bushberry Packaging System. Best Sorting’s Primus Gemini-new and improved fresh berry sorter won the award for Best New Processing Equipment. The Best New Fruit Product category had two winners: Mucci Farms’ Sun Drops grape tomatoes and Naturipe Farms’ Berry Quick Blueberry Snacks. Volm Companies’ Volmpack Ultrek 320 Vertical-Form-Fill-Seal Bagger won Best New Packaging Equipment, and Best New Vegetable Product went to Pure Hot House Foods for its Pure Flavor Grill Ready Vegetable Mix.
