"Share the Wonder" Grant Program Flocks Toward Special Programs

<p>Pinnacle Food's Birds Eye&reg; "Share the Wonder" program has recently handed out a few new grants. The grant program provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that encourage and inspire children and the community to discover the wonder that is the vegetables. This month, Bird's Eye has announced that it is giving Edible School Yard New Orleans a $5,000 Birds Eye&reg; "Share the Wonder." The funds are used to help New Orleans public school children to "eat, learn and live through a comprehensive, hands-on food education program that integrates gardening and cooking into the curriculum, culture and cafeteria food programs."</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The Dinner Garden also received a grant from Birds Eye&reg; "Share the Wonder" program, for $20,000. The gift provides seeds to families in need and teaches them how to cultivate their own food. Birds Eye&reg; also awarded The Nashville Mobile Market a $10,000, "Share the Wonder" grant to deliver produce, dairy products, meat and whole grains to the residents of Nashville's food deserts in a climate-controlled truck. The grant also provides them with healthy recipes as well as nutritional and health information. Rodrigo Troni, Vice President of marketing for Birds Eye stated, "At Birds Eye, we are heralding a new age of vegetable appreciation to help feed kids better."
