SOLEDAD, CA - A six-part product launch is bringing a boost of life to the value-added salad sector as Braga Fresh taps into an advantageous category with its new Braga Farms Chopped Salad Kits. To get the details, I touched base with the grower’s Vice President of Sales, Heather Fuller.

“Chopped salads continue to be a driver of growth in the value-added salad category,” explained Heather. “These salads are built on strong-performing flavors and robust veggie blends to bring color and brightness to chop salads kits. They are craveable recipes built with healthy, flavorful ingredients, as consumers are reading the ingredient panels more and looking for products to fulfill their lifestyle preferences.”

Six mouthwatering SKUs comprise this convenient new chopped salad kit lineup, including:

  • Avocado Goddess
  • Caesar
  • Asian Sesame
  • Everything
  • Sweet Kale
  • Sunflower Crunch

Four of the six recipes were developed to mimic the Josie’s Organics chopped salad kits that have a loyal consumer fan base.

Armed with these innovative new varieties, Braga Fresh is working with its retail partners to build strong promotional plans to drive demand, including point-of-sale and online merchandising.

Available now at Fresh Thyme Markets, the grower plans to expand the availability of this lineup to all of its market areas.

“This launch was a natural extension of our growth strategy,” Heather shares. “We are focused on expanding our salad line to include conventional salad kits as we have with our other product lines, offering a one-stop shop for both organic and conventional salads and packaged veg. Leveraging research and consumer panels, we decided on these six core flavors as the cornerstone of our chop salad kit line. They are the most popular flavors and are seen as staples in the category. We also plan to launch additional varieties later this year, adding new flavor concepts to meet consumer trends.”

This newly debuted lineup, along with the Josie's Organics line, will be on display at the Southeast Produce Council's Southern Exposure show at booth #719.
