FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - A monumental occasion is being celebrated for Chiquita, as the banana brand recently held an inauguration event to welcome two new ships to its fleet. The two new vessels, The Explorer and The Voyager, are the biggest ships that Chiquita has owned to date.

The Explorer and The Voyager will operate in alignment with Chiquita’s broader sustainability efforts and emphasize the company’s commitment to reducing waste and resource consumption within the maritime industry, a press release explained. The two new vessels are also a symbol of the brand’s dedication to eco-conscious practices and environmental stewardship.
To celebrate the welcoming of these new vessels, Chiquita hosted an inaugural event, inviting retailers and customers to an insightful tour of one of the vessels, accompanied by lunch at the port and other activities. Attendees took to the Port of Wilmington in Delaware to tour The Explorer, in addition to participating in a discussion about Chiquita’s sustainable operations and exploring the inside of the company’s shipping containers.
As the press release further highlighted, The Explorer and The Voyager will significantly enhance the company’s shipping capabilities, allowing them to deliver high-quality produce to even more consumers worldwide while following the highest sustainability standards.
