WOODBRIDGE, ON - Change is in the air for global-reaching Burnac Produce, which is celebrating two shifts in its leadership organization just in time to meet the industry at this week’s CPMA Expo in Toronto, Ontario.

Longstanding contributors Christian Janzso and Anthony Bisogno have each been named Managing Director, Category, after a cumulative 35 years with Burnac.

Alex Mitsiopoulos, Director of Human Resources, Burnac Produce“Anthony and Christian’s commitment to excellence has set a high standard and new bar for the rest of the organization to follow, and our team congratulates them both on this significant achievement,” Alex Mitsiopoulos, Director, Human Resources, shared on the exciting move. “We are proud of their hard work and dedication, and we are fortunate to have them as valued members of this team. We look forward to what’s in store in the years to come and wish them continued success as part of the Burnac Produce Family.”

Reflecting on each of these emerging leaders, Alex explained how both have made exceptional contributions to the company’s growth.

Christian Janzso, Managing Director, Category, Burnac ProduceJanzso departed from a career as an Executive Sous Chef to join Rite-Pak, a division of the Burnac Produce umbrella and major importer and distributor of vegetables, berries, Italian products, and more, in 2006. He was instrumental in growing the Loblaw Direct to Store Delivery program (DSD) from 13 stores to more than 200, and managed both corporate sales and flow programs with the retailer.

In 2009, Janzso moved into Category Management of wet veg, then tropicals and bananas, until in 2016 he was promoted to Category Director overseeing those programs.

Anthony Bisogno, Managing Director, Category, Burnac ProduceBisogno joined the company in 2005 as a Sales Manager at the Ontario Food Terminal (OFT) after completing a university finance and accounting program. During his time at the market, Bisogno predominantly built his reputation selling to small independent retailers and restaurateurs before managing smaller categories like English cucumbers, hothouse peppers, baby eggplants, and more. Eventually Bisogno began managing berries, asparagus, and celery categories before being promoted to Director, initially managing the melon category before expanding his reach to include stonefruit, grapes, cherries, and apples.

“Anthony and Christian have each utilized their unique backgrounds to help further ensure our company’s success by consistently exceeding expectations and challenging excellence,” Alex concluded.
