STATESBORO, GA - The time for Vidalia Sweet Carrots has arrived. Curry & Company’s 2015 season for this produce item has begun, with over 400 acres planned to be harvested in Georgia exclusively.

Matt Curry, President, Curry & Company“The demand for our Vidalia Sweet Carrot program has remained strong since our introduction in 2011,” Matt Curry, President of Curry & Company, said in a press release. “It is a seasonal carrot we offer which differentiates it from other carrots that are available and gives us a nice niche in the marketplace.”

The season is long-awaited, with production having been delayed by the wet weather earlier this month.

Vidalia Sweet Carrots

Vidalia Sweet Carrots are a specified variety, beginning as baby carrots that are left to grow to their maximum size and flavor potential. Typically thinner than the usual carrots in the market, Vidalia Sweet Carrots are ideal for snacking and juicing according to the company.

While the company emphasis during 2015 will be on cello carrots offered in 1-, 2-, 3-, and 5-pound bags for consumers, 2-pound bags were the number one sales item for Curry & Company last year. There are also 25lb. and 50lb. bulk packages.

Vidalia Sweet Carrots will be available in June and are sold throughout the U.S. and Canada, with strong regional sales in the Southeast.
