Suzanne Wolter, Director of Marketing of Rainier Fruit Company, discusses the upcoming blueberry season which starts in mid-June. Volume has increased to double what it was last year and over four million pounds are planned to be sold with three million being organic. The organic blueberries are grown out of central Washington which is a relatively new area for Rainier. Washington offers a perfect blend of long days, cool nights and volcanic soil that allow the berries to produce large, flavorful fruit just like the wine that comes out of Washington.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
