SALINAS, CA - Writing a new chapter in its company growth, Tanimura & Antle took to the newswires to announce that it has promoted Nick Sgheiza to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Sgheiza started at Tanimura & Antle in 1999 as an intern in the company’s cooler, harvest, shop, and planting department, a press release explained.

Following his graduation from California Polytechnic State University, he returned to the grower-shipper to kick off his full-time career, first working in the company’s Spinach and Spring Mix department. Later, he was promoted to run Tanimura & Antle’s onion operations and then to Senior Director of Harvest Operation in 2016. By 2018, he became Vice President of Harvest Operations and, in 2021, was promoted to Vice President of Operations.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Crop Science with a minor in Agriculture Business from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo. Sgheiza is also a graduate of the Future Leaders program of the Grower-Shipper Association of Central California and participates annually in volunteering at the Monterey County Farm Day.
