SACRAMENTO, CA - Cucumbers, tomatoes, and mini peppers proved an enticing offering to many in our industry today, as produce professionals from all sides of the industry rushed to try their knowledge of Mini Munchies™ in our latest Quiz Quix. And this month we’re giving away two top prizes, one to the quickest overall winner and one to the quickest competitor from the buy-side of our industry.
The leaderboard was packed with quick and clever produce pros, including PMA's George Szczepanski, Golden Sun Marketing's Jennifer Velasquez, and NatureFresh™ Farms' Peter Quiring.
After reading a brief prompt, contestants could try their knowledge and comprehension against their peers for a $100 prize. But Quiz Quix is about both knowledge and speed, and the quickest overall winner, snagging the top prize, was Lorena Lemus, Produce Buyer for Merchants Distributors. This is Lorena’s second Quiz Quix crown, as she snagged our prize in November of last year in our Sweet Potato Quiz Quix.
We’re also awarding Senior Purchasing Manager Gene Harris of Denny’s a cool $100 for the top time in the buy-side of our industry. "I always look forward to the ANUK Quiz!" Gene told me on the occasion of his win. "They're fun & educational!"
