According to a study conducted by Deloitte Insights, 71 percent of contemporary (younger, well-off) shoppers and 54 percent of conventional (older, low-income) shoppers said they would pay a premium for fresh food. In addition, brand name remains more critical for contemporary consumers (55 percent) than conventional (35 percent).

Colorful, high-graphic Lil Snappers boxes, which fit nine 3 lb bags, capture the attention of parents and children looking for a healthy snack. Apples and conventional pears will come in a 3 lb bag, and organic pears in a 2 lb bag, a press release stated.
