FOWLER, CA - Come January 1, 2017, all Bee Sweet Citrus employees and their dependent family members, specifically spouses and children, will have access to basic health care.
“Bee Sweet Citrus would not be where it is today without our employees,” stated Bee Sweet Citrus Vice President James Sherwood. “We are happy to be in a position where we can celebrate our staff’s dedicated work ethic by providing additional health care benefits for our employees and their families.”
The new Employee Medical Plan, which is through United Health Care, gives all members access to these benefits at every UHC facility, according to a press release. With 15 locations throughout the San Joaquin Valley, this includes:
- Confidential enrollment
- Medical care
- In-house service
- WIC services
- Access to highly-discounted prescriptions
Aside from a $10.00 co-pay for office visits, Bee Sweet decided to pay all of the costs associated with the UHC health care plan.
“Most of Bee Sweet’s employees live in neighboring communities, so this new initiative will provide a plethora of benefits for all those that work here,” said Jasmine Reynozo, Bee Sweet Citrus’ HR Generalist. “Having accessible health care so close to work will help to create a healthy work environment and a stronger, healthier workforce.”
Bee Sweet said that employees qualify for the plan’s benefits 30 days after their start date, encouraging all of them to take full advantage of the new initiative.
