SANTA PAULA, CA - With a strong foothold in the United States, Calavo Growers is turning some of its attention internationally as the avocado supplier strategizes to expand its global footprint. One of the first steps in this plan has been to add Tommy Padilla to its Family of Fresh team as Senior Director of International Sales.
With over a decade of expertise in international sales and sourcing, Padilla will play an integral role in helping Calavo increase its penetration of global markets, especially in Asia and Europe, according to a release. He will also aid the company in expanding its Family of Fresh offerings in these markets.
Prior to joining Calavo, Padilla spent 12 years at another well-known avocado supplier working in a variety of leadership positions. His roles included Asia Sales Manager, Director of Asia Sales, and Senior Director of Export Sales.
Chief Executive Officer and President of Calavo Brian Kocher detailed why Padilla is the perfect addition to the company.
“With Tommy’s help, we are well positioned to support our international customers and expand (or broaden) our ‘Family of Fresh’ products and services in the Asian and European markets. Tommy is a great addition to our team, and we are excited to have an industry veteran join our family,” he commented.
Danny Dumas, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Grown Division, also shared his enthusiasm for Padilla to join the Calavo team.
