CMI: Ambrosia Apples

Wed. January 11th, 2012

On today's episode, Scott McDougall, Owner of CMI, joins us to talk about their Ambrosia apple. The company is based out of Quincy, WA, situated in the Columbia basin. CMI begins their Ambrosia apple harvest around the first of October and it continues for two to three weeks when the marketing season picks up where the harvest leaves of, and extends through the end of May. The taste and flavor of the Ambrosia provides an extremely sweet, unique and honey-like experience. Ambrosia apples offer favorable aspects for every sense with its slightly perfumed flavor, smooth skin and bright, pink blush characteristics. The creamy background, tender flesh and very fine, crisp texture offer a perfect palatable balance. Washington's warm sunny days and cool nights also add to its appeal, providing ideal growing conditions for the fruit.

www.cmiapples.com
