<p>Potato farmers in P.E.I, Canada are saying that <b>unexpected cold weather</b> this year is putting a damper on planting, according to Canadian news outlet CBC News. This means that the <b>potato harvest will be delayed</b> in this region.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"Last few springs we've been spoiled because it's been warmer. <b>This spring's more wet and cold</b>,” said David MacLeod, a potato farmer in Canada.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">In years when conditions were ideal, the first new potatoes of the year popped up by the middle of June. The early premium-priced spuds were a boon to farmers.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">However, every day that planting is delayed now means another day before the harvest begins.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">"Rain will be a positive thing," said another farmer, William Visser, who says this weather pattern is <b>actually a blessing</b>.
