ISSAQUAH, WA - It may come as no surprise that Costco is once again making several moves to bolster its presence in the retail sector. The company recently unveiled plans for new warehouses in several markets, including Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Little Rock, Arkansas; Moore, Oklahoma; Springfield, Missouri; and Naperville, Illinois.
The new Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma locations are all set to open in July, according to MSN, with the Murfreesboro, Tennessee, location opening its doors on July 20, followed by the Oklahoma and Arkansas stores on July 21–22. The new Missouri and Illinois warehouses will follow suit, opening their doors in August.
In addition to a massive expansion in the U.S., the retailer is also eyeing international growth, as it revealed new warehouse locations in Moriyama, Japan, and New South Wales, Australia, over the next couple of months.
This critical expansion follows the retailer’s recent announcement of another exciting strategy—the return of free samples at 170 of its 550 locations.
As Costco continues to expand its geographical footprint, AndNowUKnow will keep our eyes out for more pivotal growth strategies in the retail sector.
