<p><strong> Brantford, ON</strong><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Cravo Equipment Ltd. has completed its recent greenhouse project with California based vegetable transplant company, Plantel Nurseries, Inc. The project has allowed Plantel Nurseries to expand its capacity by opening a new location in Santa Maria using Cravo retractable roof greenhouses.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> The newly completed state-of-the-art greenhouses were specially designed to suit the Plantel growing trays and to allow the plants to receive maximum light when the roofs are retracted. This ensures that the young plants are strong and properly conditioned before shipping. The features also make it more efficient to maintain optimal plant health when Plantel needs to react to changes in customer demand due to changing weather conditions in their customer’s fields, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Scott Nicholson, President, Plantel Nurseries, Inc., states “The retractable roofs improve the quality of the young plants since the plants are exposed to outdoor conditions throughout the growing cycle. Labor costs have also been lowered since there is no longer a need to move the crops from a conventional greenhouse to an outdoor holding/ hardening area.
