CHARLOTTE, NC - This year marks the Dole 125th Pineapple Crowning Anniversary, and to celebrate the occasion at the store level, the company will launch commemorative tags on millions of DOLE® Royal Hawaiian® Pineapples in the United States and Canada. Dole is also working with retailers throughout North America to bring the anniversary to shoppers through dedicated displays, point-of-purchase materials, and other in-store activations that tell the DOLE pineapple story.
“Sweetness and flavor have always been core to this story, and Dole’s anniversary celebration will feature a curated collection of pineapple-forward recipes created and curated by Dole over the decades, encouraging in-store purchases,” Bil Goldfield, Director of Corporate Communications, explained. “New and classic recipes, serving ideas, and helpful tips will be shared, offering fresh inspiration for everyday meals, special occasions, and celebrations big and small.”
In addition, Dole’s dedicated webpage will feature fresh activities, free digital downloads, and hands-on DIY activities designed to celebrate all things DOLE Pineapple in 2026. This summer, Dole’s multiyear partnership with Minecraft will become more pineapple-focused as well in alignment with this celebration. Details on this are to be released, so keep an eye out.
Innovation has always been at the heart of Dole’s pineapple story, as Bil pointed out. From early advances in cultivation and preservation to modern breakthroughs in conventional breeding and sustainable farming, Dole continues to push the pineapple category forward.
“Our 125th Pineapple Crowning Anniversary also showcases the ways that Dole has helped shape a brighter future for the pineapple and produce industry, consumers, and the planet since 1901,” he said. “These range from the building of infrastructures and other important social support in communities for pineapple workers to advances in research for conventional and organic farming and The Dole Way, our three-pronged global sustainability initiative.”
As the global pineapple and produce industry has grown, so too has Dole’s obligation to lead in the protection of people, food, and nature for future generations. The company’s programs in water management, climate change, waste reduction, employee social equity, and health and nutrition are helping to ensure another 125 years of DOLE pineapples and a happy, healthy global fanbase.
“One of many examples of this global leadership is our commitment to donate a portion of every case of our recently launched DOLE Colada Royale™ Pineapples sold to create a new community center for our pineapple farm workers and their families in La Ceiba, Honduras, which is part of a much larger infrastructure investment by Dole in Honduras that dates to the early 1900s,” Bil concluded. “This new center will be managed by the workers and provide healthcare, language classes, and vocational training.”
Now that is called category dedication! As we continue to see Dole’s investment in pineapples and beyond, ANUK will be sure to report.
