SACRAMENTO, CA - You can always count on the produce industry to bring people together. This past Thanksgiving, it happened again and to two of our dear industry friends.
Who, you ask? Lisa Davis and Raley’s Senior Director of Produce and Floral Greg Corrigan.
On Thanksgiving day, Lisa and Greg were at the dinner table and Greg said how blessed he was in so many ways and how thankful he was for their relationship, which is where he let the entire room know what Lisa meant to him. I can only imagine the emotion.
Later that evening, in front of family members from both sides, Greg was the traditional gentlemen and got down on one knee to ask Lisa if she would marry him, along with a beautiful ring AND her parents' approval.
“In front of everyone, he spoke from his heart and it can only be described as nothing short of a fairytale when he expressed why he wants to spend the rest of his life with me,” Lisa tells me. “After all his words, I said ‘YES.’”
“I have waited a long time to make the commitment of a lifetime and could not be happier,” Greg shares with me. “I am truly blessed that this amazing little brown-eyed girl with a smile that melts anyone and a heart as big as the produce industry came into my life and eventually said ‘YES.’”
About a week later Lisa and Greg celebrated their engagement in private.
Who says there can’t be fairytales in produce? Not I.
