The agreement would set higher floor prices for tomatoes, potentially doubling the cost of certain varieties for consumers.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Lance Jungmeyer, President of the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas, tells AndNowUKnow, “So far, there has been no official announcement. As far as we know, they are still in negotiations and until the Chamber of Commerce comes out with the official agreement, we are advising that the industry continue under the terms of the 2008 agreement.”<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Florida growers have been pushing for the agreement which raises the minimum reference price at which the Mexican plum, cherry and other tomatoes can be sold in the U.S.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">The Department of Commerce was not available for immediate comment.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><a class="btn btn-sm btn-primary col-lg-12" style="white-space: normal;" href=" http://www.uschamber.com/" target="_new">US Chamber of Commerce</a></p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">
