<p>How did fresh produce fare in 2013? Total fruit dollars were up 7.6% in the last year, pound sales increased 4.3% and tangerines have been on an impressive growth curve. All regions saw an increase, with the Northeast region leading fruit sales growth with +7.1% over the previous year. The report, formed by IRI/FreshLook Marketing and Gruszka Consulting, considers information for fresh fruit and vegetable sales within the United States.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Average price per pound for fruits in the total US has increased 3.2%, with all US regions seeing an increase in price.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Total vegetable dollars are up 8.5% and pound sales increased 3.1%. Lettuce shows strong growth and is up 11.3% this year. Potato led in pound sales, with a flat trend.
