New Produce Sales Model Uses Food Trucks to Reach Food Deserts

<p>Fresh produce is attempting to make a big impact in the so-called food deserts across America. Mobile food trucks carrying veggies, fruits, and other groceries are making their way to American cities like Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, the Bronx, and Tulsa to deliver food to people in need, according to New York Times and FOX23.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/veggiemarts_body_2.jpg" alt="cropped_Image_022814" /><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Tanya Fields is the owner of one of these “rolling veggie marts.” They may look like ordinary buses, but this Fields’ “supermarket on wheels” delivers fresh foods and groceries each week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, providing food at low prices so everyone can afford them.
