The company plans to change its sales structure effective October 1, 2012 to begin selling cucumber seeds directly to growers in Canada. Nunhems believes these efforts will help strengthen its image as a greenhouse vegetable seeds specialist, according to a press release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Ali Mohammad will become the new sales specialist, focusing solely on cucumber seed orders and follow-up. For cucumber winter and spring crops, Nunhems is introducing a new variety—Cyrus—which has been tested in Canada by several growers. Nunhems has also begun trails for a new tomato program for high-tech greenhouses, including Tomatoes on the Vine and Cherry on the Vine varieties.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Nunhems offerings include 2,500 varieties in 28 vegetable crops.
