CASTROVILLE, CA — Ocean Mist Farms has announced its intention to expand its cooler facility in Coachella, California.

Ed Boutonnet, CEO, Ocean Mist Farms“We built our reputation on superior product quality and food safety practices,” Ed Boutonnet, CEO of Ocean Mist Farms, said in a press release. “This new facility will allow us to further improve product quality and shelf life as well as food safety and security.”

The facility in question grows and cools artichokes, as well as 30 other fresh vegetables, according to Boutonnet. The construction for these latest modifications began on March 23, and are a result of increased business, according to the company. While construction has just begun, the planning for the changes have reportedly been two years in the making.

The facility, once completed, will have twice the cooling and storage capacity, as well as two-times as many bays for receiving and loading trucks. In addition to the growth spurt, the expansion will also include improvement to efficiencies, product quality, and customer service. All this will, according to the company, position Ocean Mist Farms for future growth.
