CASTROVILLE, CA - The Ocean Mist® Farms Academic Scholarship Program is officially back in season! Returning for its fourth year, the scholarship program recognizes students who embody Ocean Mist’s guiding values—integrity, quality, passion, and success—and encourages the next generation of the produce industry to get ready for a career of loving all things ag.
“Supporting education and the youth in our community is a very important outreach initiative for us,” said Diana McClean, Senior Director of Marketing. “Each year we host a Scholarship Ceremony at the annual Castroville Artichoke Food & Wine Festival in June to celebrate each scholarship recipient.”
Those interested in applying must reside in Monterey, Riverside, San Benito, or Santa Cruz. Applicants must also submit a 500-word essay, letters of recommendation, and proof of college acceptance and enrollment to [email protected].
“As a company that values family, education, and community, we’re happy to offer a program that embodies these values to our employees and their families,” said McClean.
According to a press release, in addition to the five public scholarships, Ocean Mist Farms will be granting two scholarships exclusive to dependents of the company. Each scholarship recipient will be awarded a scholarship of $1,000, which they can then apply toward their college tuition.
