AVONDALE, PA - Mushrooms are on the up-and-up as more chefs and home cooks find new ways to incorporate this ancient variety into different menu items. And, with summer in full swing, one of the more popular ways to squeeze in mushrooms is on the grill, either alongside, or inside, burgers and more. To get consumers excited about the summer season and the versatility of mushrooms, To-Jo Mushrooms is partnering with Weber Grills to launch To-Jo Summer Grilling Sweepstakes from June 30the to July 14th.

I spoke with Pete Wilder, Marketing Director, to find out more about this exciting opportunity for retailers during the peak of grilling season.

Throughout the sweepstakes, To-Jo will promote Weber products in addition to its own through a secondary on-pack sticker and online digital video content, #kitchenliveseries, emphasizing several varieties in recipes like:

  • Blended Mushroom Bacon Burger
  • Mushroom Veggie Medley in Grilling Basket
  • Bourbon Marinated Baby Bella Mushroom & Steak Kabobs
  • Caprese Stuffed Balsamic Portabella Sliders
  • Grilled Portabella Mushroom Warm Potato Salad

To-Jo will also release Weber product-centric blog posts featuring mushroom handling, grilling inspiration, and health benefits, as well as a number of ways to cook mushrooms with Weber products and accessories that work best with that variety.

“This partnership offers To-Jo an opportunity to leverage Weber’s tremendous brand recognition in the digital space through engaging video content, and at the retail level through an in-store sweepstakes featuring both Weber and To-Jo products,” Pete explains.

And, everyone can join in on the fun. Pete notes that To-Jo is encouraging consumers to take a picture grilling with mushrooms, upload it to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, and use the hashtag #tojobbqtime and tag @ToJoMushrooms and @Webergrills to get more excited for the sweepstakes.
