Providing thousands of residents with free produce, health screenings, and education, “Crop Circles” was the interactive kick-off to the “Healthy Compton” campaign.

"Tessemae's All Natural is proud to be working with the City of Compton and Mayor Aja Brown in having our Crop Circles program serve as the kick-off event to their 2015 Healthy Compton Campaign,” Greg Vetter, CEO of Tessemae’s All Natural, said in a press release. “We view the continued work of Mayor Brown and the City of Compton as the perfect extension to our commitment of supporting health awareness initiatives and providing access to quality produce in food deserts.”

According to the release, “Healthy Compton” is designed to educate Compton resident on leading healthier lives, as well as equip and empower them to do so.

With over 2,500 residents expected to show, “Crop Circles” distributed fresh produce from Garden Highway, a host of local vendors, food trucks, and healthy snacks were provided.

DJ Asher Roth, NBA standout Baron Davis, and the mascot for the Los Angeles Sparks were also there to provide a fun environment for residents as they learned about eating healthier and integrating more produce into their lives.
