Alecia Troy, Senior Marketing Manager, Sakata Seed America joins AndNowUKnow to share the benefits of hosting the annual California Seed Trials and the advantages for attendees.

The California Field Trials is an event that the company holds annually, each August. It is split between the two different locations Salinas and Dixon, California, so that cool crops can be presented in Salinas and the warms crops can be presented in Dixon. The event features the company's current crops on display for retailers, growers and distributors so that they may view what is current for the company, review any new information about current crops and talk about any opportunities or issues they might have.

At the trials, the company also featured its new line up of varieties for next year. Sakata is celebrating its 100th anniversary and in honor of that 100th anniversary the company introduced a collection of varieties called the Centennial Collection.

Approximately 300 dealers, growers and retailers attended the event The number in attendance still allowed Sakata to spend time with the people who came to the trials. The advantages of hosting the field trials include connecting to the chain and engaging more with retailers as well as its advantages in helping everyone in the industry to remain connected and to better understand each others' issues and provide solutions.

Sakata Seed
