<p>Sakata Seed America, Inc. will host its <B> Florida Watermelon Trials </b> June 10th through June 12th. Visitors will get a chance to see what’s happening in the world of watermelon.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The trials will take place in High Springs, Florida and will be a focal point for industry people to visit with Sakata product managers, sales and R&amp;D staff. The trials allow growers to do a <B> side-by-side comparison </b> of both familiar and new competitive varieties of Sakata watermelons.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>“Our extensive trialing is done to provide watermelon varieties that perform well for the grower. Early varieties and advanced genetics allows us to meet the wants and needs of grower and ultimately the consumer market” says Gattis Guffey, Senior Watermelon Product Manager at Sakata.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>An R&amp;D effort from Sakata has led to a <B> resurgence of new hybrids </b> including the new Charismatic, Unbridled, Kingman and Secretariat triploid varieties, as well as a new pollinizer, Wild Card, according to a press release.
