YUMA, AZ - Sandstone Melon Company’s newest branded item declares that size doesn’t matter when it comes to flavor.
The company is introducing its proprietary Mini Kiss melons, developed as an extension of its popular ‘Kiss’ branded melons. Just as with all Sandstone’s Kiss melons, this smaller variety undergoes the same extensive quality tests to ensure their flavor reaches the company’s high standards.
“Mini Kiss melons face the same arduous harvest criteria as our standard melons. We feel the smaller size will appeal to both children and empty nester households,” Diana Russell, Director of Harvest, explained. “All the Kiss melons go through the toughest quality tests in the industry and Mini Kiss melons are no exception.”
The motivation to develop Mini Kiss melons derives from Sandstone’s desire to reduce food waste and increase sustainability, according to a press release.
“Sandstone always tries to be on the leading edge, whether that is with our seed selection, farming practices, or marketing,” said Milas Russell, Jr., President. “Melons that might otherwise go to waste are being brought to market as the Mini Kiss. It reduces our waste footprint and allows us to open markets for our larger melons.”
Mini Kiss melons will be available in promotional supplies for the next four weeks from the Central Valley of California.
