MILLEN, GA - For many in this industry, health is the tether that pulls them toward fresh produce. That is why the Southeast Produce Council (SEPC) is the perfect partner to champion the cause of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). SEPC served as the Title Sponsor of the organization’s Strong4Life Superhero Sprint, where member volunteers helped distribute fresh produce to event attendees. SEPC member companies donated and transported over 12,000 lbs of fruits and vegetables.

David Sherrod, President and Chief Executive Officer, Southeast Produce Council“The Southeast Produce Council is extremely proud of our association with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta,” said David Sherrod, SEPC President and Chief Executive Officer. “They have cared for so many children from all 159 counties in Georgia and from around the whole country with state-of-the-art medical treatments and facilities. We are excited that we are contributors to their mission and to the new facility opening next year.”

SEPC members had the opportunity on June 2 to visit CHOA’s Mission Center to learn more about the new North Druid Hills Campus. Members were able to hear about the five pillars of CHOA’s Never Settle Campaign: Hospital and Campus, Clinical Excellence, Research, Teaching, Behavioral, and Mental Health. They then took a tour of the simulation space, where multiple mock rooms at the hospital have been created.

We applaud all the industry members who made an effort toward this worthy cause.
