WENATCHEE, WA - As the organic industry prepares to gather in Northern California’s seaside Monterey for the Organic Produce Summit (OPS), the team at Starr Ranch Growers is reflecting on the strategy, impetus, and incentive of this challenging way to farm.

Krista Beckstead, Brand Manager, Starr Ranch Growers“We are thrilled to participate in the Organic Produce Summit once again and share our love for organic farming,” said Krista Beckstead, Brand Manager. “Organic is not just a buzzword for us; it is a way of life. We firmly believe in the importance of sustainable farming practices and the positive impact they have on our planet. We are excited to connect with fellow growers, industry experts, and consumers who value the incredible benefits of organic produce.”

Little represents the passion Starr Ranch’s network brings to organic like the short video below. Highlighting Sean Gilbert, the General Manager at Gilbert Orchards speaks to the heart of this directly.

Sean Gilbert, General Manager, Gilbert Orchards“When you walk into an organic orchard, you can hear it,” Sean said, explaining not only how organic product is part of a broad ecosystem, but the impact it’s had toward conventional farming.

“[Organic] is now a way to control codling moths, even on conventional farms,” he gave as a for-instance.

Now, further bolstering its organic prowess, Starr Ranch has teamed up with SGS Services to be Sustainably Grown Certified this year.

“Sustainably Grown certified products meet the highest standards of environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Producers of Certified Sustainably Grown crops work diligently to provide a safe and healthy work environment, support farm communities, and protect vital environmental resources such as clean air, clean water and wildlife habitat, while reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions,” Krista explained.

With such deep roots in this dynamic sector of our industry, booth #505 is certainly a key stop on this year’s expanded show floor July 13–14.
