<p>Sun Pacific is looking to bring new growers and packers into its clementine and mandarin program following its acquisition of the Cuties brand. The company has scheduled a Cuties luncheon/meeting hosted by Sun Pacific today, June 11th from 12:00-2:00 at the Visalia Convention Center to provide information to growers and other interested parties in learning more about the clementine/murcott industry. The meeting will also allow Sun Pacific to contact high quality growers that may have an interest in packing under the Cuties label.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Cuties from California are made up of two varieties of mandarins: clementines and murcotts . Clementines are shipped from late October thru mid January and murcotts from mid January to mid-May.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>Al Bates, General Manager for Sun Pacific, tells AndNowUKnow, "The two varieties represent by far the fastest growing segment of the citrus industry and probably the fastest growing and most successful item in produce over the last 15 years."</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>In the late 90's there were minimal plantings of both varieties, as compared to more than 50,000 acres in the ground through this year.
