We had finished our harvesting on our ranches in Coachella; we had one licensee still harvesting Midnight Beauty black seedless, and we had one grower in Mexico still shipping to the U.S. We've had good weather, a little hotter than normal which has resulted in abbreviated packing days, but we had perfect weather during the bloom. The last few years, we've had cold, wet weather."

"The market's pretty good; I'd say that demand on red seedless this year, early on in Coachella and Mexico, has been higher than green grapes. It's a little concerning to us, because we have a lot of green grapes early on in the season. The grapes have high sugar, great eating quality and there's plenty of opportunity to promote at the retail level. We definitely have prices that offer the consumer a real value."

"Crimsons will be starting in the next couple of weeks. Our flagship variety, the Scarlotta Red Seedless, will be available from October through December, and that's always a good way to end the season."

Sun World
