Claire Smith, Director of Corporate Communications for Sunkist Growers joins AndNowUKnow to discuss the company's summer orange program, how retailers can promote the category and why it is good to be green.

Some summer oranges go through a natural process called “regreening” in the late spring and summer while the fruit is on the tree awaiting harvest. Warmer temperatures cause a pigment – cholorophyll − to return to the skin, causing a greenish tint. The fruit still remains ripe and the color of skin has no effect on its sweetness or quality. The company is offering "Green is Good” header cards for retail point of sale to explain that re-greened summer Valencia oranges are ripe and tasty. The company is also presenting Sunkist 4lb Summer Orange Value Pack Bag – great for juicing or summer snacking.
