The company's Retail Division has activated its $8 Million dollar Bloom Energy power system at its salad plant in Salinas. The system has 5 energy servers, which each produce about 1.75 million kilowatt hours annually... that’s enough to power roughly 160 homes! CEO Bruce Taylor says quote, “This innovative clean energy system allows us to continue exploring ways to reduce our impact on the environment and moves us much closer to our specific goal of taking this Salinas production facility off the electrical grid”. The 1 Megawatt system will cut almost 30 percent of carbon dioxide emissions.
