DELANO, CA - Vignolo Farms/Top Brass has announced the company’s California grown grapes and potatoes are now officially Non-GMO Project Verified. The company says this new verification underscores the 75-year-old family farm’s dedication to today’s consumer.
“Research shows that a majority of Americans are very concerned about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in their food, which is why we are committed to meeting and exceeding consumers’ expectations with our fresh fruits and vegetables,” says Brett Dixon, President of Top Brass. “Receiving Non-GMO Project Verification is another example how we are continually looking to communicate the added value of our produce.”
According to a press release, the Non-GMO Project is North America’s only third-party verification and labeling organization for non-GMO food and products. In order for the company to earn that Non-GMO Project Verification, Vignolo Farms/Top Brass’ grapes and potatoes underwent a series of rigorous tests and audits to ensure that they adhere to the Non-GMO Project’s strict Standard for GMO avoidance.
