United States Department of Agriculture Appoints Members to Fruit and Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee

WASHINGTON, DC - In its efforts to support the fresh produce supply chain, the United States Department of Agriculture has appointed 25 industry members to serve as representatives on the Fruit and Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee (FVIAC).

The newly appointed and reappointed members will each serve two-years terms effective immediately, a release stated. Their terms will end in October 2024.

Originally chartered in 2001, the FVIAC provides guidance to the Secretary of Agriculture on issues that are affecting the fruit and vegetable industry.

Members of the committee represent a wide range of interests and groups, including organic and non-organic growers, shippers, wholesalers, retailers, industry trade associations, importers, processors, foodservice suppliers, food brokers, and more. They also represent on the local, regional, and national levels.
