USDA Restricts Great Pacific Inc. and Gonzalez Transport & Food Inc. from Operating in the Produce Industry by Sarah Hoxie

<p>The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have sanctioned Great Pacific Inc. and Gonzalez Transport &amp; Food Inc. for failing to make payments issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) to their respective California and Minnesota sellers, according to an Agricultural Marketing Service news release.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Companies who do not meet their contractual obligations in buying and selling fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables may be issued a reparation order by the USDA. The USDA has consequently restricted both businesses and responsible individuals from operating in the produce industry.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding">Great Pacific Inc., operating out of Los Angeles, CA, is being sanctioned for failing to pay $511,273 award in favor of a California seller. Yong Hak (Paul) Lee was listed as the officer, director, and major stockholder of the business.<hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"> Gonzalez Transport &amp; Food Inc., operating out of Santa Ana, CA, is being sanctioned for failing to pay a $3,777 award in favor of a Minnesota seller.
