The members represent three production territories: Region 1, which covers the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and all states except Pennsylvania, which is Region 2 and California, which is Region 3, according to a news release by the USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service.<img src="https://cdn.andnowuknow.com/legacyWriterImages/usda-mushroom-council-cropped.jpg" alt="IMAGES 3-21-2013" />The Mushroom Council will fill three seats, one in each production region with each selected member serving a three-year term in office. They will replace representatives whose terms expire at the end of the year. Prospective nominees must submit applications by May 1, 2013. USDA encourages council membership that reflects the diversity of the individuals served by the program.</p><hr class="legacyRuler"><hr class="invisible minimal-padding"><p>The Mushroom Council reviews marketing and research activities that benefit the industry.
